Privacy
We use a few tools to see how people use s12.ca and which of our ads work. We don't sell your information. Registration and payment happen on Jackrabbit, our class system, not on this site.
What this site collects
s12.ca uses Google Analytics to count visits and which pages and buttons people use, including when someone presses Register. It does not collect names, emails or payment details itself.
s12.ca also uses the Meta Pixel to measure visits from our Facebook and Instagram ads, including when someone presses Register or completes a registration. This helps us see which ads work and show them to people likely to be interested. Meta may use cookies and combine this with information it holds about your Facebook or Instagram account, under its own privacy policy. You can manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.
s12.ca also uses PostHog to see how pages are used. It records anonymous sessions (clicks, scrolling and page changes), builds click heatmaps and reports page errors, so we can find where people get stuck. Anything typed into a form field is hidden and not recorded. PostHog receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate your city or region, and it stores a visitor ID in a cookie and in your browser's local storage so it can recognise a returning visitor without knowing who you are. PostHog processes this data on servers in the United States.
Registration and payment
Registering opens our registration system, Jackrabbit Class, which collects the student and family details and payment information needed to enrol. That information is handled under Jackrabbit's own security and privacy terms and used by Studio 12 only to run lessons.
Email sign-up
If you join the Saskatoon Songwriters Group email list on this site, the form sends your email address, and your first name if you give it, directly to Mailchimp (a service of Intuit, based in the United States). Mailchimp emails you a confirmation before adding you. We use the list only to send the group's monthly email. Mailchimp records which links in that email you click, which is how RSVPs are counted. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and PostHog store small identifiers in cookies or your browser's local storage so a returning visitor can be recognised without knowing who you are. After a registration, the thank-you page also saves a short timestamp in your browser so a refresh isn't counted twice.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies and site data for s12.ca in your browser settings, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. The site still works. Google offers an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). You can unsubscribe from our email list with the link in any email.
Where your information is stored and for how long
The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Google, Meta, PostHog and Mailchimp may store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible under local law. Google Analytics data for this site is kept for no longer than 14 months. PostHog session recordings are kept for 30 days and its other analytics data for up to one year. Registration records and the email list are kept as long as needed to run lessons and the group's emails, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
