Micheal Lander

Songwriter and guitar specialist with more than 25 years of experience, teaching at Studio 12 since 2004.

Micheal Lander has taught at Studio 12 (formerly 12 String Studios) since 2004. He has a strong foundation in blues and rock, with country, classical and jazz influences. With more than 25 years of experience, and having studied music under two Juno Award-winning musicians, Hugh Fraser and Brad Turner, he keeps learning new things to improve his craft and share it with anyone who wants to learn.

A Top 25 finalist in a Canadian songwriting competition for his song “Long, Cold Run”, Micheal also leads the Saskatoon Songwriters Group and was awarded Music Professional of the Year at the 2023 Saskatchewan Music Awards.

His lessons are warm and comfortable. He’ll teach you the songs you know and love, and also how to improve your technical ability and musical knowledge through physical exercises and theory that apply to every song. One of his greatest strengths is teaching improvisation and analyzing songwriting.

“My guitar playing has definitely improved thanks to Micheal. The quality of musical instruction and education is great especially if you put the time and effort into honing your skills!”
